First Day of School…

My First Grader

The First Day

I gave you a little wink and smile
As you entered my room today.
For I know how hard it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with her for five years now
And have been a loving guide,
But now, alas, the time has come
To leave her at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And tears down your cheeks may flow
I'll love her as I would my own
And help her learn and grow.
For as a parent, I too know
How quickly the years do pass
To take my child to class.
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love her and take her in
When you leave her at my door.

As I write this post I can’t help but hold back the tears…to think that my sweet Chloe has started kindergarten.  She was excited to meet her teacher before school started, she enjoyed getting all the school supplies and each trip to do so would only bring her that much closer to starting her long journey of school.

Chloe I want you to know that it hasn’t been easy on me to let you go and I did countless times beg you to stay home, but you were ready and so we both decided to let you go. I know you are a strong spirit and  I know you know write from wrong…be a leader and stand up for what you believe in!! know that your daddy and I love you so much!  You are my super star…

Love,

Mom

p.s. You have your big brother there with you so you have nothing to worry about! : O

you guys star early! Kesley doesn't start until the 27th. I am a little jealous that Chloe gets to be in all day kindergarten. Kesley only has three hours a day! I bet you are going to love staying home with just your two little ones! SO cute! Chloe looks so big!
