Well here's how it goes...Mason came home from school on Monday with this reading asignment to read as much as he could to celabrate Dr. Seuss's birthday. He had no homework packet and was asked to just record all the books and how much he read. Well we started on monday night and read, read and read. We found that early in the morning while the kids got up at 6:00am to read for an hour while in bed worked the best. I would have to say that early in the morinng was hard but if we were going to win this contest that's what we had to do. Mason made a green egg's and ham project at school and he brought it home and was pretty proud of it! They were encouraged to wear things or dress up like Dr. Suess during the week. We found these socks in my drawer and he wore them to school one of the days. He had fun. We kept reading all week and we were getting up there in hours but stuck through it and had fun with it.

On Friday moring we added up his hours and he had got to 6hrs and 50 mins. He came home on Friday and was doing this dance saying I won, I won I won....I didn't put it together until we sat down and taked and he handed me this gift card for Barnes and Nobles. He told me that Mr Knorr had given it to him(The Principle). All in all he had a fun week and out of all the kindergarders in his school he read the most that week. He is pretty excited to go and get a new book, I think that after that week we had almost read each book we own twice. :) We sure are pround of you Mason...Way to Go!!

Wow that is so great he won. I don't know how you did it getting up so early and reading, I am IMPRESSED! If it were me, I would have slept and felt guilty about it later:)
Oh my gosh! He has got to be the cutest little guy I have ever seen! I love the toe socks. Congrats Mason!
FIrst of all, why do you have those socks in your drawers? For fun cold nights when your toes are freezing? So cute!

Way to go guys! There's something magical about reading with your kids, I just love it! I love it even more when they learn to read and find that magic within themselves. Good for you, Mason!

He was so cute running out of the school gate with that card. I didn't know what he earned it for. But he sure was excited to go home and show it to you! He's such a cutie!
