Friday was a topical day with it being my day off, i got to the gym, ran Chloe to pre-school, ran picked up dry cleaning, stopped here and there, got groceries and all my running around done while I only had two kids.
I was home doing dishes catching up on laundry, and cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms and everything else that I can cram into my day off to catch up when I got this funny... oh I say funny phone call that suddenly turned my day upside down!! This is how it went...
April: Hello...
Richard: Hi this is rich with White Feather gun Smithing Co. and I'm who Dustin placed an order through last week???
April: I said wait..who are you?
Rich: I sold Dustin a gun last week and I have lost his cell number...
April: well...I can give him a message and let him know you called...
Rich: Did you not know about this????
April: NO!! Not at all, but I'm so glad that you called!
Rich: Oh I hate to be the one to break the news to the wives...oh I'm so sorry!
April: I'll let him know that you called...
Being the good wife that I am I decided to text him and ask him about this one?? He soon knew he was in TROUBLE and he couldn't get this one past me!! Let's just say that he kept talking about how he was so excited to be going to go see our family in Utah over the holidays and now it all makes sense to WHY he really excited! He'll have his new gun and get to do some hunting while in the Utah mountains. It has been a few year sense he has gotten out there and really go to hunt but still I'M NOT JUSTIFYING IT! We have our differences on this one for sure!
If this happend to you would you have been mad or what!???!!!

All too familiar! I just looked at our e-bay account (a thing I never do) and there is a coat Cory just won for more money than I spent on clothing for myself in the last 3 years!!!
I plan on being mad for at least a few more hours.
ah been there done that, only it was golf clubs. We were in the car leaving the airport driving down to pebble beach with some friends in the car and Cory's friend Steve says hey cory are you so excited about using your new clubs. I said Cory's doesn't have new clubs and Steve said oops Cory. sorry man! I can't believe I honestly didn't notice he had new clubs. Cory then said Shanna don't be mad you can shop. I said you bet I am!! Of course I didn't spend the amount he did on his clubs and still today I harass him about it. So your question about being mad, you bet. Just harass him about it for the rest of his life!!!
Yes I would be mad that He hid it from me.....because if David wanted a gun then I would say "go for it", just don't NOT tell me!!!
Dog house for sure!! It's tough though you want them to be so happy because they work so hard. But to not tell you, dog house!

Oh April you're a good woman. Yes I would be mad but I think we're all guilty really. But on such a big purchase probably. Dustin you little stinker!
Lets get a mans opinion on this one. First off, Dustin, you rock and I admire you. I have yet to try that, but am waiting the day that I have the guts to do so. April, I would say that you need to teach my wife some empathy in this regard. Don't feel bad, I have a friend that has dozens of guns that were purchased without his wifes permission, and probably 3 or 4 more since the last time I spoke with him. I think I will call him and check in with him on this one just for a laugh.
By the way Dustin, if you are in town and want to yote hunt, I am game!!
Yep, I would for sure be upset. I can understand the need for tough-rugged man Dustin to get a gun...but, the sneaking around stuff is not okay. Especially b/c you two are so tight!
I have NO DOUBT he will make it up to you in one way or another (making him paint something or build you something!)
I for one applaud your actions Dustin. It's about time Men started putting women in their place. We don't need to ask for permission to do anything. Way to go, chalk another one up for MEN!

Been there. Rich sprung it on me recently that he had purchased a second gun while he was in Iraq. He swears up and down that he told me about it. I don't remember that conversation and I'm sure it didn't happen because the answer would be "absolutely not, one gun in this house is more than enough."
